Colts expected to hire Jaguars' Jim Bob Cooter as OC

The coaching crew for Shane Steichen is coming together. Jim Bob Cooter, a seasoned NFL assistant, is anticipated to be named

the team's offensive coordinator by the incoming Indianapolis Colts head coach, sources told ESPN's Jeremy Fowler on Monday.

Cooter, 38, most recently coordinated the passing game for the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Cooter served as offensive consultant for Steichen with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2021, thus the two of them have some recent history.

Cooter, a former collegiate quarterback at Tennessee, provides the Colts, who are generally anticipated to choose a quarterback this offseason,

with essential quarterback expertise. The fourth overall choice in the NFL draft belongs to Indianapolis.

Gus Bradley, the defensive coordinator, and most of his staff are expected to remain with the team under Steichen, according to numerous sources.

The organization has not made any formal statements regarding its personnel. Bubba Ventrone,

The Colts' special teams coordinator and a former contender for head coach, is also anticipated to stay with the company.
