Eye drops recalled over non-sterility

The latest in a succession of recent eye drop warnings, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) published a warning notice that some eye drops are being recalled globally.

According to the FDA's warning letter, Pharmedica USA LLC voluntarily recalled two lots of its Perfectly Soothing, 15% MSM Drops owing to non-sterility.

The warning stated that using tainted eye drops increased the risk of eye infections, which could lead to blindness.

As an anti-inflammatory, the recalled drops are "aimed to assist with symptoms of ocular irritation and/or swelling," the warring states.

According to the recall, Naturally Soothing LLC distributed the impacted product all over the world via trade exhibitions and online e-commerce sites like Amazon.

The eye drops include eye dropper caps and white lids (LOT#: 2203PS01, 1 oz, UPC 7 31034 91379 9; and LOT#: 1808051, 12 oz, UPC 7 31034 91382 9).

Customers are being urged by the corporation to "immediately" stop using the product and send it back.

Retailers and wholesalers are also instructed to "immediately" stop selling the recalled goods and to either return them or verify that they have been properly disposed of.

Up to this point, there haven't been any reports of harmful effects or illnesses connected to this recalled product.
