Restaurant Brands International posts strong fourth quarter, names new CEO

On Tuesday, Restaurant Brands International announced a successful fourth quarter and nominated

Chief Operating Officer Joshua Kobza to take over as CEO from José Cil on March 1.

According to a statement released on Tuesday by chairman Patrick Doyle, "the Board of Directors has worked with management over

the past many years to establish a thorough succession plan for key positions, so this is a logical transition for Josh to lead our next chapter of growth."

Cil will continue working for the company as an advisor for a year to aid in the transition.

The company is currently working to grow and revitalize some of its important restaurants when the leadership changes. Burger King,

Tim Hortons, Popeyes, and most recently Firehouse Subs are among the franchises housed by Restaurant Brands.

Based on the average of Refinitiv's collected analyst projections for the fourth quarter,

the performance of Restaurant Brands in comparison to Wall Street expectations is as follows:
