The Flash director Andy Muschietti has finally confirmed the most thrilling rumor that has been circulating about the movie.

Yes, 25 years after his movie "Superman Lives" was canceled, Nicolas Cage will finally make his DC Universe debut as Superman.

"Nic was fantastic in every way. Muschietti tells William Mullally of Esquire Middle East that despite the job being a cameo, the actor threw himself into it.

The Flash, which opens in theaters on June 15 in the Middle East, follows the eponymous character as he travels through

the multiverse and encounters various versions of some of DC's most well-known characters, including Cage's Superman.

Due to his enduring affection for the artist, Muschietti chose Cage for the part.

"I had always wanted to work with him. I'm hoping we can collaborate once again soon," Muschetti continues.

Although Cage is obviously 25 years older than he would have been in the abandoned movie, he embraced the part without hesitation.

"He loves Superman a lot. A devotee of comic books," Muschetti continues.
